Pharmaceutical and food industries were the leaders in 2013. This was announced by the Annual Review of the Economic Sectors, drawn from the Research Area of Monte dei Paschi di Siena and based on ISTAT data.
These industries benefited from the positive trend in exports (+ 5.8% value of sold production and 14% in exports, the first; + 3.2% value of sold production and + 5.3% in exports, the latter).
Among the nine industries examined, the textile and leather industry follows, then there are means of transport, paper and machinery industries, that have shown positive signs compared to 2012.
The report outlines a vision with important positive changes also for 2014. The more advantaged industry may be the machinery industry, this year: it showed a growth rate in exports during first seven months (6.3% against the same period in 2013). In second position, the textile and leather industry (+4,8%), followed by means of transport industry (+ 4.1%).
