In these pictures, you can see Vuototecnica’s Octopus BO 12 120X bars in action, installed on two robots that handle polystyrene packaging.
As you can see, the two robotic arms take the polystyrene pieces in turn under a wrapping machine that closes the containers; then they go to palletize them.
The Octopus bar was the best choice for this type of application mainly due to the fact that it is able to maintain a grip even if the vacuum surface is highly irregular (see in the pictures, the evident surface fenestration of the polystyrene pieces).
The robot integrator was thus able to concentrate the vacuum on the full surface only, without losses, and without having to change configuration when it came to handling boxes of different types.
With Octopus systems there is no need to adjust or modify the gripping hand and it is efficient even when the gripping surface occupies only 5% of the bar.
