The flexibility of Vuototecnica Octopus vacuum system is well known: it has become a champion in gripping and handling by means of vacuum.
In the video, it shows off its practicality of use in the palletizing of line wrapped objects.
The bar was mechanically attached to the gripper arm and fed via compressed air connections integrated in the robot itself, in order to reduce the overall footprint as much as possible.
To further lighten the presence on board, it is possible to choose to make the bars in aluminium or polyzene, and there are many gripping surfaces available: in sponge rubber or with suction cups (and in different configurations, depending on the application).
In this specific case, it is possible to pick up objects even if they cover only 30% of the gripping surface and, as you can see, the Octopus does not damage the wrapping paper in any way.
