The purpose of the new VPE Vuototecnica coaxial shutter solenoid valves is to intercept the compressed air supply to the vacuum generators, a task they accomplish, precisely, thanks to a special coaxial shutter that allows the supply of large amounts of air.
This shutter is pneumatically operated by means of a micro-solenoid valve with a low-power coil to handle operating pressures between 1.5 and 7 bar.
As a result, a higher suction cup pick-up speed can be expected, a desirable result when dealing with high-frequency robotic pick-and-place systems.
The solenoid valves can be controlled by means of vacuum switches and energy-saving cables so that the consumption of compressed air, which feeds the venturi, can be managed when a predetermined vacuum value is reached.
They are also very compact and can therefore be installed directly on board vacuum generators so as to avoid the presence of long pipes and unnecessary footprint.
The same valves can also be used in all cases where atmospheric air needs to be quickly restored to a vacuum circuit or a part taken with suction cups needs to be quickly released.
They are therefore installed on board Octopus gripping hands to facilitate the cleaning and release of parts to be handled.
